Young performers invited to free launch night in Uppermill

Anyone interested should contact Ceri.

Budding performers who love singing and drama are being invited to a free launch night as Little Voices Saddleworth and Holme Valley prepare to open in Uppermill.

Parents of children, aged four to 18 years, are encouraged to get their young ones involved in the event on Tuesday, April 21, 2025.

Principal Ceri is bringing the nationally recognised performing arts academy Little Voices to the area, offering professional tuition in singing and acting in small, supportive classes designed to build confidence as well as performance skills.

Unlike larger stage schools, Little Voices prides itself on small class sizes, ensuring every child is nurtured as an individual.

The academy places strong emphasis on confidence-building, creativity, resilience, and creating a safe, inclusive environment where children can truly find their voice.

A key part of the programme is preparation for examinations with the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA). These internationally recognised qualifications are included within the monthly tuition fee, with students working towards yearly LAMDA exams. At higher grades, LAMDA qualifications also carry UCAS points, providing students with valuable credentials alongside enhanced communication skills and self-belief.

Ceri said: "Little Voices is about so much more than learning to sing or act. We help children develop confidence, self-esteem and life skills that stay with them far beyond the classroom. The LAMDA pathway gives them something meaningful to work towards, but the real reward is seeing them grow in belief and resilience."

Classes will initially be based in Uppermill, welcoming families from across Saddleworth and the wider Tameside and High Peak areas, including Ashton, Hyde, Dukinfield, Stalybridge, Glossop and Hadfield.

The free launch night will give children and parents the opportunity to meet Ceri, take part in fun drama and singing activities, and learn more about the Little Voices ethos and curriculum. No previous experience is required.
