Widdop & Co - one of the UK’s longest-standing gift and homeware wholesalers, with roots going back to 1883, opened its first permanent Home of Gifts Outlet yesterday (October 27) on its premises in Chadderton.
The opening will be celebrated with a launch event today (October 28).
For over 142 years, Widdop & Co. has supplied thousands of independent retailers, garden centres, homeware shops and more with high-quality gifts and home accessories.
Known for its in-house design team, a portfolio of over 11,000 products from 35+ brands, and a commitment to ethical sourcing, the business has built a reputation for both variety and excellence.
The online Home of Gifts shop was launched in 2020 to showcase many of these formerly trade-only brands direct to consumers. This new outlet represents the next evolution, a permanent physical place where customers can browse, order directly from catalogues, pick up hot-picks, and enjoy a café while they shop.
The Home of Gifts Outlet will have a “catalogue-plus” shopping format (similar to Argos), combining in-store displays and hot-sale items with the ability to order from the full range.
A selection of exclusive deals and discounts for outlet customers. A Home of Treats van (pictured below) will be parked at the entrance of the outlet to enjoy.

Widdop & Co. previously ran a temporary Christmas outlet that drew hundreds of local shoppers a couple of years ago. Since then, the local community has repeatedly requested that the outlet return. The new permanent Home of Gifts Outlet is a response to this demand, offering residents year-round access to Widdop & Co.’s curated range of gifts and homeware.
Widdop & Co. is located on Broadgate, Broadway Business Park, Chadderton, Oldham, OL9 9XE. Opening hours: 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday (weekdays-only initially).
