Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were called to support North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) with a report of a walker who had fallen in Birchen Clough, near Dove Stones.
Volunteer team members made their way by team 4x4 vehicles up past Greenfield reservoir to the bottom of Birchen Clough on Friday afternoon. The rescue party then headed up the Clough on foot with a paramedic, towards the casualty located near the waterfall.
After being checked by the paramedic, the casualty was carefully escorted down the rocky challenging path of Birchen Clough to the waiting vehicles, for onward care with the paramedic.
Ten team members were involved for two 2 hours 45 minutes.
Oldham Mountain Rescue Team is on call 24/7 and funded entirely by generous donations and grants.
