As students head back to university and college this September, TransPennine Express (TPE) is offering a 50 per cent discount on rail journeys across its network.
Students with a 16–25 Railcard can unlock half-price tickets – instead of the usual 1/3 saving – simply by booking directly with TPE.
To claim the discount, railcard holders just need to enter the code TPESTUDENT when purchasing tickets through the TPExpress app, or by following the link and clicking on the orange ‘buy tickets’ button: tpexpress.co.uk/special-offers/student-train-tickets.
Darren Higgins, Commercial Director at TransPennine Express, said: “With the start of the new academic year, we know many students are moving to campus, travelling to see friends, or exploring new places.
“We’re proud to be able to support them with a saving that makes rail travel more affordable. With more than 40 universities on our network, this offer means students with a 16–25 Railcard can enjoy half-price journeys right across the North of England and Scotland.”
With the discount, students can take advantage of incredibly low fares, such as Liverpool to Leeds from just £6.90* and Manchester to Leeds from only £6.00.*
The 50 per cent discount applies to TPE Standard Advance Purchase tickets, as well as Standard Airport Advance tickets to and from Manchester Airport.
The discount is available all year round, giving railcard holders ongoing savings for journeys to lectures, nights out, and weekend trips – all at unbeatable value.
Full details and terms and conditions are available on the TPE website: tpexpress.co.uk/special-offers/student-train-tickets.
