Tickets selling fast for Dr Kershaw's Strictly

2025 runners-up, Oldham Athletic chairman Frank Rothwell OBE and Amanda Cunningham.

If you are missing Strictly Come Dancing, you can get your fix at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice’s upcoming dance extravaganza.

A nod to the popular BBC One television programme, Dr Kershaw’s Strictly will see eight couples take to the dancefloor on Friday, March 13.

Last year’s sell-out event raised over £53,000 for the charity, which receives only one-quarter of its funding from the NHS.

Contestants included Oldham Athletic chairman Frank Rothwell (pictured below), who received his Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) medal from Prince William in January.

For 2026, the dance competition will be held at Vermilion in Manchester.

In the opulent surroundings, the audience will enjoy live entertainment, a two-course meal with canapés, and dance performances.

Tickets cost £55 each, with funds going towards palliative and end-of-life care within the Oldham community.

Joanne Penketh, Income Development Manager at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, said: “Events like this make such a huge difference for patients, carers and their families.

“Not only will it be a night to remember, but it will enable us to continue our vital work.

“An exciting new venue means our event will be bigger and better than ever.

“This year’s theme is ‘Dancing through the Decades’, and we can’t wait to see the choreography and outfits.

“Let’s just hope that our dancers can impress our judges too – only one couple can be crowned the Glitterball Champions!”

The headline sponsor for Dr Kershaw’s Strictly 2026 is Landlord Furniture Co, with Grains Bar Hotel sponsoring the reception drinks and Monarch Metals and Diodes acting as gold sponsors.

Each dancer will also be fundraising for Dr Kershaw's individually via JustGiving. To buy tickets, find out more, or sponsor the dancers, visit www.drkh.org.uk/strictly
