Three individuals have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences following a series of early-morning raids in Derker, Oldham, as part of the ongoing efforts by Operation Vulcan.

The targeted action, carried out on the morning of 19 August, was the result of a thorough investigation into the supply of controlled drugs. Officers from Operation Vulcan, in collaboration with the Oldham Complex Safeguarding Team, executed a coordinated strike across three addresses in the St Mary’s and Holts areas of the town.

Two men, aged 24 and 18, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs. Searches of the properties led to the seizure of suspected controlled substances and electronic devices believed to be linked to drug-related activity.

This morning’s activity follows previous drug recoveries in the area, where forensic analysis played a key role in identifying suspects involved in the distribution of large quantities of Class B drugs. Community-sourced intelligence was also instrumental in identifying the locations targeted during the operation.

The latest arrests contribute to the growing impact of Operation Vulcan in Oldham, with more than 120 individuals arrested in the nearly six months since the operation was launched. The offences covered by these arrests range from drug supply to theft and weapons-related crimes.

Further work alongside the Complex Safeguarding Team is expected in the coming weeks as part of continued efforts to disrupt criminal networks and protect vulnerable individuals in the Derker area.

Inspector Dan Cullum, from GMP's Vulcan team, said: “Today’s action comes as part of Vulcan’s commitment to ridding the streets of Derker and surrounding areas of illicit substances that can cause immeasurable harm to the community.

“We are dedicated to working with all appropriate partners and teams to find and punish those responsible for crimes, while safeguarding vulnerable people who need our help.

“As always, we would ask anyone with any information regarding criminality in their area to get in touch with us – either directly or anonymously.”
