Oldham's town centre is celebrating a significant boost to retail with two new store openings and three substantial refurbishments.
Cards Direct and North West have recently joined the shopping area, strengthening the variety of retailers available to shoppers, while established brands H. Samuel, Daniel Christian Menswear and Lloyds Bank have all completed major refurbishments of their existing stores, creating enhanced shopping environments for customers.
This investment comes at an exciting time for The Spindles and the wider town centre, with the recently opened market bringing renewed energy as part of a once-in-a-generation £450million town centre investment, attracting visitors and helping to drive increased footfall across the Spindles.
Together, these developments demonstrate growing confidence in Oldham town centre and The Spindles as a key retail and community hub.
James Kington, Director of Growth, said: "It is fantastic to see both new retailers choosing The Spindles as a location for growth and existing businesses reinvesting in their stores.
"These five investments send a strong message about the confidence retailers have in the future of the centre and the wider town centre.
"The opening of the market has created real momentum and is helping to attract more people into the heart of Oldham.
"As footfall continues to grow, it is encouraging to see businesses responding by enhancing their offer and investing in the customer experience.
"These latest openings and refurbishments further strengthen our retail mix and provide even more reasons for people to visit The Spindles."
James Monte, who is proud to have opened the 93rd Cards Direct store in Oldham, said: "We are delighted to open our new store at The Spindles. The centre offers a strong retail environment and a growing customer base, and we are excited to become part of the local community."
Usama Bin-Zaman of North West said: "The Spindles is an important destination within Oldham town centre and we are pleased to be opening our new store here.
"With increasing visitor numbers and continued investment in the town centre, this is the perfect time for us to establish a presence and bring our offer to local customers."
H Samuel Oldham is part of a multimillion-pound store investment programme by parent company Signet Jewelers UK and Ireland.
"We’re delighted to welcome Oldham’s shoppers to a smart new store,” said H. Samuel store manager Carla Ramsey.
Neil Old, Managing Director of Signet Jewelers UK and Ireland, said: “This significant investment in our stores underscores our dedication to local high streets and shopping centres across the country.
"We believe that a vibrant retail sector is a vital part of a thriving community, and we hope our refurbished stores will be warmly welcomed by local shoppers."
Dan Keogh of Daniel Christian Menswear added: "We are proud to have invested in our new Daniel Christian Menswear store refurbishment at The Spindles.
"This will create a better experience for our loyal customer base and demonstrate our long-term commitment to the centre and Oldham.
"We are excited about the future and the opportunities being created through continued investment in Oldham town centre."
