The Blue Coat School celebrates A-level results

After the long wait for results over the summer period, there was a sense of joy, relief and pride as students and their families celebrated another fantastic set of A Level results at The Blue Coat School Sixth Form.

Across the cohort, 30% of all grades were awarded at A*/A and 60% at A*-B. The students pictured below achieved 29 A* and 12 As between them all. 

Emily Hohmann achieved A*’s in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths and will now study medicine at Oxford. Haider Ullah Hassan achieved A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and will be studying Medicine at King's College, London. Ben Watkinson achieved A*s in Computer Science, Maths, Further Maths and Physics and is off to Warwick to study Computer Science. Issac Cheung achieved A*s in Computer Science, Maths and Physics and will study Physics and Astronomy at Durham. 

Caleb Pennystan and Megan Weir will also be taking up places along with Emily at Oxbridge next year. Caleb will be studying Biochemistry at Oxford and Megan will be studying Human Social and Political Science at Cambridge. 

Zunaira Kayani (Manchester), Aroush Yasin (Leeds), Emily Hohmann (Oxford), Haider Ullah Hassan (King's College), Niyazur Rahman (Sheffield), Ameya Krishna (Liverpool) will all be heading to university to study medicine next year. 

Ameya said: “Without the teachers at Blue Coat and the amount of support and confidence they have given me, I could not be in the position that I am in now. I am forever grateful.” 

Scarlett Hill spent much of her time at Sixth Form juggling her studies alongside training and playing football for Manchester United. Scarlett manged this incredibly well, achieving a Distinction* in PE, A in Biology and B in Psychology, and has just signed a professional contract with Manchester United for next season.

“We are absolutely delighted by the achievements of our young people and incredibly proud of every single one of them. As a cohort, they’ve achieved incredible levels of success and the vast majority of them are now off to study a wide variety of subjects at universities, with many securing places on the most sought-after courses at the most prestigious universities across the country. In addition to this, many of our students have secured places on highly competitive degree apprenticeships, drawing on the strong relationships The Blue Coat School Sixth Form has with local, regional and national businesses. 

"Over the last two years, our students have worked incredibly hard and deserve all the achievements they have earned. They have been incredibly well supported by the staff at The Blue Coat School Sixth Form who have ensured they have received the highest standards of teaching and pastoral support that has enabled them to fulfil their potential. They have also been well supported by their families who have been there to offer support and encouragement throughout the examination period. 

"On behalf of the class of 2025/26, I would like to extend my thanks to the staff at the school and to all the parents/carers who have worked together to ensure that all students have manged to experience success, whatever that may look like for them as the unique individuals they are. We wish them good luck on the next stage of their journey and can’t wait to hear about the incredible things they go on to accomplish in the future.”
