The Tanner Cup, resurrected this year, has gone through the group stages and the semi-finalists are now known.
The last group game was on Sunday and Stayley overcame Austerlands. Stayley posted 262-8 with significant contributions from Munir Tanzil who finished with a century and also James Park-Johnson, (56). Youngster Tom Moule featured with the ball for Austerlands taking 3-23. In reply Austerlands battled well but fell sort by 43 runs, Andy Young top scoring with 53*. For Stayley Faisal Hussain played a good containing role taking 3-21 in 9 overs.
The semi finals see Saddleworth hosting Stayley on Sunday 11th August, with Heyside facing Friarmere on a date to be arranged.
