A Saddleworth village has turned itself into memory-prodding theme for its latest Scarecrow Trail venture.
Launched at the weekend, the focus for the Diggle’s latest school fundraising initiative attraction focuses on 'All things Television' from all era's and genres of TV, including soaps, reality TV, UK classics and lots of children’s TV favourites.
Said enthusiastic trail organiser, Tracy Buckley, chair of Friends of Diggle School :”There are more than 30 scarecrows handcrafted by locals on display. They are really eye catching and very creative. There a terrific amount of thought gone into the exhibits.
“Last year, we raised more than £6,000 which was spent on providing the school with additional resources.

“Redrow have kindly sponsored some prizes and all the sweet treats for the trail and Grandpa Greenes and Diggle Lock have also donated some fantastic prizes.
“Saddleworth School have kindly let us use their car park for the duration of the trail and we ask people to please use this great, FREE facility to keep the village free from gridlock.

“We are looking forward to welcoming you back to what we hope will be our best trail yet,” she added.
Visitors can pre pay for trail sheets at www.ticketsource.co.uk/friends-of-diggle-school
They can then be picked up any time from Grandpa Greene's, The Gate Inn, Diggle Lock or The Diggle Hotel. The Trail runs until April 14.
