Police have arrested a man in connection with theft from motor vehicle in Oldham.
The Neighbourhood Policing team arrested the suspect in relation to theft from motor vehicle and fraud by false representation yesterday (Thursday). He has been charged and remanded to court.
Officers urged motorists to remain vigilant this week following a spike in car thefts across the town.
Vehicles have been stolen on a number of occasions from September 16, 2025 and have occurred in Saddleworth, Fitton Hill, St. Mary’s, Royton and Chadderton from midnight to 5am.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Please remain vigilant and check CCTV of any suspicious activity.
“If anyone has any clear CCTV footage which may be of relevance to this investigation please email 16314@gmp.police.uk
“Crime prevention advice is available on our website.”
Sgt Graham Craven added: “Remember not to have any items on display in your vehicles and ensure they are locked when unattended.”
