Five men and two women have been charged in connection with arranging and facilitating travel of another person with the view to exploit and conspiracy to control prostitution for gain, following an investigation conducted by GMP’s Oldham CID and Neighbourhood teams, supported by GMP’s Modern Slavery Team and the North West Regional Crime Unit (ROCU).
This comes after a concern for welfare report was raised on Thursday, January 25.
A 31-year-old female is receiving support from specialist officers and agencies.
Those charged are:
- Dan Cristian Scurtu, 49, of Crofton Street, Oldham
- Stefan Sorin Boeru, 24, of Howgill Crescent, Oldham
- Anisoara Stan, 44, of Ashton Road, Oldham
- Gheorghe Rusu, 41, of Abson Street, Oldham
- Victor-Viorel Stan, 40, of Grendon Avenue, Oldham
- Alina Lungu, 19, of Lime Street, Oldham
- Daniel Dobrin, 19, of Western Road, London
All seven have been remanded into custody having appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates and Tameside Magistrates court.
