Popeyes UK has announced its first Oldham restaurant will open its doors at the end of the month at Elk Mill Shopping Park, continuing the brand's biggest regional investment of the year.
Marking its sixth opening of 2026 and its fifth restaurant across Greater Manchester, Popeyes will be showcasing its New Orleans hospitality with launch day giveaways for locals.
On opening day at 11am on Friday, February 27, the first four customers queuing on foot and the first four cars in the Popeyes Park & Serve Bays win the prize of free Deluxe Chicken Sandwiches for an entire year. Plus, the first 50 customers in the queue will be treated to Popeyes UK merchandise, and the first 100 will bag a free Deluxe Chicken Sandwich.
Popeyes opening days continue to draw huge crowds across Greater Manchester, with Bolton fans lining up from 2am for the brand's first opening of 2026. To be part of the action in Oldham, hungry customers are advised to get down early to avoid missing out on the epic giveaways.
With dine-in and takeaway options available, fried chicken fans will soon be able to enjoy Popeyes favourites like the iconic Chicken Sandwich, Hot Wings, Tenders, and Signature Chicken Wraps.

Rolling out nationwide, the Kickback Sandwich leads the line-up, featuring Popeyes iconic 100% fresh, Shatter Crunchin’ chicken, topped with smoked cheese, fresh pickles and the signature Kickback Sauce, all nestled in a soft brioche bun.
All Popeyes chicken is halal certified and marinated for 12 hours in its signature blend of bold Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered to deliver that world-famous ‘Shatter-Crunch’.
Tom Crowley, Popeyes UK CEO, said: "The response to our Greater Manchester openings has been incredible, and we can't wait to bring that same launch-day energy to Oldham. From our signature Louisiana chicken to our New Orleans hospitality, we're excited to bring the Popeyes experience to even more fans across the region."
The new restaurant will be located at Elk Mill Shopping Park, Broadway, Royton, Oldham OL2 5HX and brings 49 new jobs to the local area. Plans include 78 seats inside, self-service kiosks, four Park & Serve bays and collection points for orders made online.
