Police are urging residents to be extra vigilant following a rise in burglaries in the Failsworth area.
Sergeant Robin Coggin from the Neighbourhood Policing team said they had received reports of break-ins in the area and reminded people to consider safety measures.
He said: “We’ve seen a small number of burglary incidents in the Failsworth area recently.
“While these are isolated, we want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of some simple steps to help keep homes secure.”
Residents are asked to always lock doors and windows, even when at home, keep valuables out of sight and away from windows, consider using timers for lights if you’re out in the evening, report anything unusual in your street – such as unfamiliar vehicles or activity – to police straight away.
Sgt Coggin added: “We’re increasing patrols in the area and working hard to prevent further incidents.
“If you have any information, please call 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“Thank you for helping us keep Failsworth safe.”
