Officers from the Royton and Shaw Neighbourhood Team have recovered a stolen van and arrested a man following an incident spanning Oldham, Rochdale and Bury.
Police identified the van at Elk Mill Roundabout, Royton, which was suspected to be stolen and displaying cloned registration plates yesterday (Sun) afternoon.
The vehicle failed to stop for police and was pursued through Oldham, Rochdale and Bury.
The incident came to an end when the vehicle became immobilised and its occupants attempted to flee on foot. Officers swiftly responded and successfully detained one male at the scene.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and numerous driving offences. The stolen vehicle has since been recovered by the police.
Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Neighbourhood officers continue to proactively target vehicle crime and those involved in the use of stolen vehicles, helping to keep local communities safe.”
