Officers from the Operation Vulcan team recovered large quantities of drugs and cash after sighting a man acting suspiciously near the tram stop in Derker.
As he spotted the police, he fled, but it didn’t take long for officers to understand why.
Following a search of the area, police recovered large quantities of Class B drugs and cash hidden in bushes.
This has been seized, and extensive work is underway to locate who is responsible.
Inspector Dan Cullum from Operation Vulcan said: “This was a great find by our officers who were on duty.
“Extensive forensic work is underway to locate the owner of this illicit commodity, and it further contributes to our overall intelligence picture in the area as we continue to tackle drugs supply in Derker.
“If you have any information about drugs supply in Derker, we encourage you to report it to us so we can investigate and pursue offenders who are causing serious harm to your community.”
