Police issue CCTV images of two men after gunpoint robbery in Oldham

Detectives investigating a gunpoint robbery in Oldham in which a man was subjected to a "terrifying ordeal" have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to.

The incident happened at around 6.50pm on Tuesday 12 October on Manchester Street.

Police say a 26-year-old man was threatened with a gun by another man, who demanded he handed over cash and his bank card.

The victim didn't sustain any injuries but GMP say he's been left "understandably incredibly shaken" by the robbery.

The man fled on foot in the direction of Oldham town centre.

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information, in particular anyone who recognises either of the men pictured in the CCTV footage, to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Mike Ogiliev, of GMP's Oldham district, said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim and I'm thankful that he was left uninjured. This happened on the edge of the town centre in the early evening so we're confident there will have been people in the area who witnessed the incident take place.

"We're following all available lines of enquiry to ensure the man responsible is apprehended and faces the appropriate justice. Today we've released two images of men we believe could assist our investigation. If you recognise these men then please get in touch with police as a matter of urgency."

Anyone who has any information about the robbery should call police on 0161 856 9080 quoting incident number 2774 12/10/21.

Details can also be passed via the LiveChat function at www.gmp.police.uk or anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
