Police have been informed after a group of elderly pensioners were attacked last night in Shaw.
Chris Riley, landlord of Fox and Pine Pub in Oldham town centre, posted on social media: “My 80-year-old mother was shot tonight by a pellet gun or a slingshot. Outside the Shay Wake at 9.20pm.
“She’d been in the Curry Pot and walked towards the Spoons. A White car drove past and shot her group of friends with pellets. She’s bruised but ok. Surely, we know enough people to get a good picture of the car. Apparently, it was a white Skoda (possibly).”
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We are investigating reports of a woman being injured by a pellet gun on Milnrow Road, Shaw, at around 9.20pm on 1 July.
“The woman suffered minor injuries, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
