Police are appealing for information after a man was seen acting suspiciously in Chadderton before approaching a car and setting it alight.
The incident took place at around 7.30am on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, on Agnes Street. Extensive damage was caused to the vehicle, as well as two other cars parked nearby. No injuries were reported.
Officers are treating this as arson with intent to endanger life and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have witnessed anything suspicious, to come forward.
Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage that could assist their investigation.
At this stage, investigators believe this was a targeted incident and do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.
