Transition to secondary school is both challenging for parent and child – this is why Oldham Council is running a supportive course to help make the move stress free.
Families of children, aged from eight to 11 years, are being encouraged to join the Youth Connect 5 In Transit course.
The free five-week course for parents and carers who are feeling anxious about the change will be able to learn how to support their child through transition and puberty, build their resilience and independence and help them to cope with stress and changing emotions.
The course runs at Oasis Academy Clarksfield, Grasmere Road, Oldham, OL4 1NG on Thursdays, beginning on September 18 – October 16 from 1–3pm.
