A 46-year-old man from the Bardsley area of Oldham has been charged with nine offences, including robbing an elderly couple in their own home.
Greater Manchester Police were called to a house in the Hathershaw area at 3:20am on Wednesday morning (22 December) to reports of a burglary and assault. An 88-year-old man suffered minor injuries.
Edward Thomson, of Tensing Street, will appear at Salford Magistrates' Court on Friday (24 December) charged with three counts of robbery, two counts of burglary dwelling, three counts of threats with a bladed article in a public place, and actual bodily harm.
All the offences are alleged to have happened on 21 and 22 December 2021.
The charges follow an investigation by Oldham's District Crime Team and property recovered and returned to the victims.
