More than 90 children from Oldham Greenhill Sports and Recreation Centre along with Football Fun Factory enjoyed meeting animals and reptiles as part of Oldham’s free Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.
The budding artists also put their creative skills to the test with a scarecrow-making workshop at Cockfields Farm Park on Lees New Road, Oldham.
The HAF programme provides free activities and meals for children in receipt of benefit-related free school meals during the summer holidays — reflecting on the council’s commitment to giving every child the best start in life
Cllr Shaid Mushtaq, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, joined the children on the visit.
He said: “It was fantastic to see so many children having fun while learning. Programmes like HAF not only support families during the holidays, but also give our young people memorable, enriching experiences.”
