Police are appealing after an ambulance was struck by an 'object' thrown from a motorway bridge in Hollinwood.
It happened at around midday last Friday (7 May) from the bridge on Roman Road.
Greater Manchester Police's Failsworth and Hollinwood team said damage was caused to the bonnet of the passing ambulance as it was travelling on the motorway, and the person responsible is as yet unknown.
"Fortunately no one was injured however clearly such actions could result in a more serious outcome," they said.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to email the neighbourhood team at oldhamborough@gmp.police.uk or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Any information given will be treated in the strictest confidence.
