Oasis Academy Leesbrook once again opened its doors to community members, parents, students, and staff as it hosted its popular Ramadan Iftar event.
More than 300 visitors packed the venue last week to celebrate and promote the school's commitment to unity, inclusivity, togetherness and shared values within the community.
The academy said the memorable evening provided the perfect opportunity for the community to come together, break the fast and share in the spirit of Ramadan.
Staff welcomed Nasim Ashraf from UKEF, who delivered an inspiring speech reflecting on the importance of unity, community and reflection during the holy month of Ramadan.

The school was also delighted to welcome so many of its alumni as guests, celebrating the continued connection between their past and present students.
A particularly proud moment for the academy was when one of its own students, Abdul Rahman (pictured above), beautifully recited a verse from the Qur’an before the fast was broken. As the evening approached the time of Iftar, Imam Nasim Ashraf then led those gathered in prayer, creating a powerful and reflective moment for everyone in attendance.

The school also thanked UKEF and Al Karimiya Mosque for their generous donations, which helped make the evening possible and allowed it to host the special event for the community.
Headteacher, Mrs Andrea Mitchell said: “I am delighted to see our community come together once again for this year’s Iftar. When I promised last year that this wonderful event would become a permanent part of our school calendar, it was because I knew how important it is in bringing together people of all faiths and backgrounds.
“Events like these truly strengthen the relationships that make our community so special. As part of the Oasis Trust, we are built on the ethos of working alongside remarkable people and helping to strengthen the communities we serve, and we are proud to be contributing to that mission.”
Mrs Mitchell added: “This event was a beautiful reminder of the strong bond between our school and the families we serve. It reinforced the importance of inclusivity, togetherness, and shared values in our community.
“We are incredibly proud of this event and look forward to continuing to build and celebrate these connections in the future.”
