Night of online entertainment as Maggie's Culture Crawl to go virtual

You can enjoy a night of music, dance, art, comedy, poetry and amazing buildings without leaving your home this evening (Friday) whilst supporting a worthwhile cause.

Maggie's - a charity providing free cancer support and information - is holding a 'Virtual Culture Crawl' in support of people with cancer.

The charity, which has a centre in Oldham, is encouraging the public to "pull up your favourite chair, slump on your sofa and crash on the floor" as Gethin Jones hosts an unmissable hour of entertainment.

It will feature Rick Astley, Daisy Goodwin, Rory Bremner, John Byrne and many more, with special glimpses inside Westminster Abbey, the V&A Dundee and its centres.

To watch the stream, head to bit.ly/virtualculturecrawl just before 8pm on your smart TV, computer, laptop, tablet or phone.

Even though it is being streamed through Facebook, you don't need a Facebook account to be able to view it.

It's free to access and Maggie's will be encouraging people to donate over the phone, text and online if they would like to.

Oldham town centre is dead. At least, that’s what comments online seem to say.
