The Rotary Club of Saddleworth, who has been working in the local community for more than 50 years, is launching a new venture this year with an olden day theme.
Their special Victorian Christmas Fayre will take place in Uppermill Civic Centre from 11 am until 4pm on Sunday, November 29 this year.
The industrious Saddleworth Rotary Club members have been working hard to make this new venture a success in the hope it could become an annual event.
The Fayre will feature many elements of key things that make the run up to Christmas an enjoyable family time. There will be an array of stalls, with mostly local people selling a range of goods essential to the Christmas experience.
Father Christmas will be there to listen to the wishes of children for their Christmas gifts with other opportunities for them and their families to have a good time. A photo booth will allow opportunity for dressing up and imagining yourselves in a Victorian age. Young skills can be tested in the crafting area as parents shop for Christmas gifts.
Saddleworth Rotary is pleased to announce performances from the children’s choir at St Anne’s School Lydgate and Diggle Community Brass Band during the day. The Club is grateful for their engagement and knows that this will enhance the atmosphere of Christmas cheer.
There will also be a café selling drinks, snacks, and food throughout the day.
Whilst Saddleworth Rotary see the event as an opportunity for community involvement, any profits made from the organisation of the event by Rotary will go to the Club’s Charity Trust Account, which in turn is used to support charities and charitable causes agreed by Club members. Most of the money raised will be donated locally by the Club.
