New grants of up to £10,000 available to help businesses grow and create jobs

James Kington, Director of Growth at Oldham Council.

Businesses could benefit from a new grant programme designed to support growth, create jobs, and encourage investment across the borough.

A new Innovation Grant offers businesses up to £10,000 to help them expand, drive productivity and create new employment opportunities.

The grant is open to businesses already based in Oldham and companies planning to relocate to the borough.

Priority will be given to businesses operating in key sectors including manufacturing, construction, digital and creative industries, and low-carbon technology.

Funding is intended to support investment in equipment, technology and other projects that will help businesses innovate and grow. Businesses will need to contribute 50 per cent of the project cost.

To receive funding, businesses must complete their project and create at least one full-time job by Sunday, Feb 28, 2027.

The scheme is aimed at supporting local enterprise, attracting new investment into Oldham and strengthening Oldham’s position in key growth sectors.

James Kington, Director of Growth at Oldham Council, said: “This new grant programme is designed to give businesses the confidence and support they need to invest in their future.

“By helping businesses to grow and create new jobs, we can attract more investment into the borough and create more opportunities for local people.”

Guidance on eligibility will be on this form and if eligible the Business and Investment Team will be in touch to discuss plans further and confirm eligibility.
