Mum and baby found following placenta discovery in park

Mum and baby have been located after a placenta was discovered in Werneth park yesterday afternoon.

Police confirmed both were safe and doing well. 

Alongside medical professionals, police have conducted several enquiries and are satisfied that the identity of those who have come forward match the placenta found.
The scene has now closed, and the investigation has concluded that there were no untoward circumstances.
A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police said: "We want to thank members of the public who have assisted us and cooperated with the closure of the park, and hope that this update provides closure to any earlier concerns."
