Oldham Mountain Rescue Team have launched a campaign to replace their two stalwart Land Rovers after 16 years of valiant service.
The vehicles play a critical role in rescues taking team members and key equipment as close to casualties as possible on terrain other vehicles cannot reach or access.
But they need to raise funds to replace both vehicles, costing approximately £80,000 each. This is in addition to the annual running costs of the team of about £45,000.
Currently they have raised £13,500 towards their total target of £160,000 but say they can’t do this on their own and need help from supporters and communities they serve.
Anyone able to help can do so via the Justgiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/omrtvehiclesfundraiser?utm_medium=CA&utm_source=CL - with every donation making a difference.
The Teams suggest sharing their fundraising campaign with as many people as possible or contact them at fundraising@omrt.org for information about how they can help reach their target.
