Police are hunting a career criminal who once sued prison authorities over an infestation of bedbugs.
Romanian national Neculai Todirenchi, 46, who has links to Ashton and Failsworth is wanted on suspicion of theft.
Todirenchi has numerous convictions in both the UK and Romania and tried to claim €130,000 in damages in 2024 after saying his three-year detention at IaČ™i Prison – close to the border with Moldova - was “inhumane” and “amounted to torture with bedbugs and without medical care”.
However, magistrates rejected his claims calling them “exorbitant and unjustified” and instead awarded his 1,000 lei - approximately £170.
