A pedestrian was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle fleeing police.
Officers pursued the car as it passed by them at high speed.
A Spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly before 7pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, July 7, 2026), officers in the Oldham area were made aware of a vehicle driving in a dangerous manner, with the vehicle soon after passing a police car at speed.
“Shortly after, a collision occurred between the vehicle and a pedestrian, leaving the pedestrian with serious injuries on Park Road.
“He has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
“A man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He is in police custody.”
