A young man is in a 'critical condition' in hospital after being pulled from a lake at Daisy Nook Country Park.
Greater Manchester Police said they were called to reports that a man was in the lake at the park in Failsworth, known as Sammy's Basin, at around 3pm on Thursday afternoon (1 September).
Members of the public helped to pull the 24-year-old out of the water and performed CPR before paramedics arrived.
After being rescued, the man was taken on a stretcher in a land ambulance to The Royal Oldham Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Police have thanked the members of the public who helped the man and are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time to get in touch.
