Police have launched a manhunt to find two machete-wielding masked men who left a man injured in the Limeside area of Oldham.

Police were called to an address on Oak Road at around 5.20pm on Monday (24 October).

The 40-year-old victim was left requiring hospital treatment but his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

The first man is described as wearing a red and white mask around his face, black tracksuit bottoms, black gloves and a black cap. He was approximately 5’ 9” tall, of slim build with a muscly upper body. It’s believed he was in his late teens, early 20’s and his accent sounded local to Oldham.

The second man, who stood in the doorway of the living room, was wearing the same as the first man, including the mask covering his face. He looked to be of similar age and had a slim build.

Greater Manchester Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen two males at the time of the incident wearing the same clothing, to contact them. They are also asking anyone who has footage from dashcam, mobile, CCTV or doorbell, to come forward.

Information can be provided on 0161 856 4466, quoting log number 003016-24102022. Alternatively, dial 101, use the LiveChat function on www.gmp.police.uk or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Latics properly lived down to their billing at Stadium MK. I’ve seen Latics at Stadium MK almost every time they have played there. As I said in my preview on Friday, it has never been a pleasant experience. The average score is almost exactly MK Dons 3 – 1 Latics. (That includes four draws, which means I’ve seen Latics take some absolute pastings there over the year
