A man has been charged following a stand-off lasting several hours on the roof of a property in Failsworth.
Emergency services attended the incident on Ashton Road West, close to Tesco Extra, at around 12.55pm on Monday (27 December).
The road was closed in both directions until around 6pm, when the stand-off came to what police described as 'a peaceful conclusion'.
Greater Manchester Police has now confirmed that James Hardman, of Corwen Court in Oldham, has been charged with five counts of criminal damage and causing public nuisance.
The 29-year-old has been remanded into custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Monday 3 January 2022.
