An estimated £2 million worth of cocaine has been seized and a man arrested after a proactive stop led officers to three addresses in Middleton and Oldham.
Officers from the Middleton Neighbourhood Policing Team were on patrol in the area on Sunday, October 4, when they saw a suspicious vehicle parked on Cemetery Street.
The vehicle was stopped and during a search, a quantity of Class A drugs, scales and cash were recovered.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He remains in custody for questioning.
Following the arrest, further intelligence led officers to three addresses; two in Middleton, and one in Chadderton, Oldham.
A cannabis farm was located at each address, as well as 20 kilograms of suspected cocaine. All recoveries are due to be assessed further.
It is estimated that the contents would have a potential street value of around £2m.
Inspector Graham Cooke, from GMP's Heywood and Middleton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "While last week saw a significant day in tackling suspected organised criminality across our areas, yesterday's result showed the successes that ongoing proactive patrolling can achieve.
"While our detectives are hard at work securing further evidence and charges in relation to last week's work, neighbourhood officers are continuing to patrol hotspots and take action where needed.
"I would urge anyone with any information about criminality in their area to get in touch with us - we will do what we can to assist."
