Man And Women Arrested After Drugs Found

Police carry out early morning raids.

A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and intent to supply during early morning raids in Oldham.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and a 52-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs following the police swoop on Siddall Street yesterday morning.

They remain in police custody for questioning.

A search of the house revealed quantities of cocaine and heroin, cash, several mobile phones, and drugs paraphernalia including digital scales, debtors lists, and snap bags.

As the premises was poorly maintained and linked to criminal behaviour, police will work with partners to pursue a closure order on the property to ensure the criminality cannot continue.

Inspector Dan Cullum from Operation Vulcan said: “What made this operation particularly successful was the quality of intelligence we received from the local residents and partner agencies who were concerned about criminal activity affecting their community.

“The intelligence provided helped us not only identify the suspects but also understand the wider impact these activities were having on local residents.

“We are committed to acting on information provided by the public, and I want to personally encourage anyone with knowledge of criminal activity in their area to come forward. You can report information by calling 999 in emergency situations, 101 for non-emergency matters, or if you prefer to remain anonymous, through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111

“Every piece of information, no matter how small it might seem, helps us build a clearer picture of criminal activity and take appropriate action.”
