Newly appointed headteacher Jason Chadwick beamed with joy as he watched his first Christmas nativity show, performed by the school’s little stars.
The play was performed by two reception classes at Lyndhurst Primary School in Oldham last week.
The tiny youngsters spent six weeks rehearsing for the play and learning all the songs and the dance moves.
Mr Chadwick, who was appointed as head at the school in September, said: “I thought the show was brilliant. It takes a lot to learn all the songs and actions. Our staff, Miss Megan Ashton, got all the costumes together and directed the performance. She has been outstanding.
“We have some very confident children, and I think we’ve got some future theatre stars, and I am very proud of them. I was stood at the back beaming.”
Mr Chadwick thanked all the staff and the families for their support this year, adding: “The School Focus Trust strand is ‘Great schools at the heart of communities’, and we have lived that out today.”
Classes from KS1 also donned their sparkly outfits for their Christmas performance in front of proud teachers and parents the day before.
