Police investigating the tragic death of a baby girl in Chadderton have ruled out foul play.
Police were called to an address on Nelson Way, Oldham, at around 12.57pm on Sunday, February 9, 2025, following reports of concern for the welfare of a baby.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services in attendance, sadly, the baby believed to be five weeks old, died.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “The postmortem results have come back and there is nothing to suggest foul play in the case and so, this remains an investigation as to how the child died and not a homicide case.”
A man in his 40s and woman in her 20s who were arrested on suspicion of child neglect following the death of the baby have been bailed pending further investigation.
