Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice has extended its long-established Christmas tree recycling service to cover Oldham and all OL postcodes.
Volunteers have been trusted by thousands of supporters in West Yorkshire to collect Christmas trees since 2019.
They recycled over 2,500 real Christmas trees in 2025, raising over £32,000 for the charity which supports local children with life-shortening conditions and their families.
This year the children’s hospice, which has had a charity shop in Royton since 2018, will be out and about collecting trees in Oldham between January 6 and January 18, 2026 – for a minimum donation of just £12.
Georgia Lane, Forget Me Not’s fundraising manager said: “Everyone has a lot to think about at Christmas so we’re urging people to get one job done nice and early this year and book their Christmas tree recycling service with us now.
“All you have to do is place your order online and then you can relax, knowing it’s taken care of and every penny raised will help us support local children and families.
“Fundraising activities like this are so important for Forget Me Not. It costs us £6.5 million just to keep the doors open and we have to find 80 per cent of that ourselves.
“We’ve been collecting Christmas trees in West Yorkshire since 2019, but we know we have a lot of supporters in OL postcodes, our team helps children and families from this area and of course our shop in Royton has been superbly supported by the community there.
“So, if you live in Oldham or any OL postcode and would like Forget Me Not to collect your real Christmas tree in the new year, please visit www.forgetmenotchild.co.uk/christmas-tree-collections before January 7 and follow the simple instructions.”
Christmas trees recycled with Forget Me Not will be chipped and reused in natural landscaping, and some will be used by Ogden Water as part of natural barrier construction.
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports local babies and children with life-shortening conditions and their families.
