Fire crews tackled a blaze at a scrapyard in Royton on Saturday morning (17 September).
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just before 11am this morning (Saturday 17 September) firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a scrapyard on Higginshaw Lane in Oldham.
“Firefighters from Oldham, Chadderton, Bury and Hollins fire stations arrived at the scene and used hose jets to tackle the fire, quickly bringing it under control. Crews then dampened down the scene to make it safe.
“GMFRS have been at the scene for just under three hours.”
Higginshaw Lane was closed between Milne Street to Meek Street for a period whilst emergency services responded to the incident, with the number 57 First bus service being diverted as a result.
