Police from the Failsworth, Hollinwood and Limeside Neighbourhood team issued a number of fines for non-payment of fares at a tram stop.
The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Hollinwood Metrolink staff to ensure public safety after a rise in crime in the area.
A spokesperson for the Oldham team said: “The initiative on Friday was aimed at ensuring public safety following an increase in crime in the area.
“During the operation at the Hollinwood Tram Stop, we conducted stop searches on nine individuals. Metrolink staff also issued numerous fines for non-payment of fares.
“This proactive measure is part of our ongoing efforts to maintain safety and security for all tram users. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.”
