FCHO treat adults and children to Christmas events throughout December

FCHO customers treated to Christmas party.

More than 130 adults and children were invited to Christmas events this month after First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) funded parties at its six community centres.

Each celebration received £200 from the housing association to provide catering and festive treats.

Party entertainment at the venues included music quizzes, dancing, bingo and raffles.

“I really enjoyed the party and would like to thank FCHO for supporting with refreshments. It was great,” Barbara Ann Whittaker, (73) from Failsworth said.

Anna Stott (76), from Barker Street said: “Everyone loved the Christmas party. We played bingo, enjoyed some lovely food and even held a raffle with prizes that had been kindly donated.

“The event made people feel part of something – especially those who live alone and don’t get out much over Christmas.”

FCHO stronger communities manager Naomi Martin Smith added: “FCHO was delighted to fund these parties for our customers who really got into the festive spirit. Many thanks to the volunteers who helped.”

The events across Oldham took place between December 15 to December 21 at Tensing Street community centre, Ridgefield Street community centre and Nelson Way community centre.

The others were: Daisy Hill community centre, Barker Street community Centre and Alt community centre.
