FCHO expands apprenticeship programme with seven new opportunities

FCHO apprenticeship opportunities available now.

First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) is looking for seven apprentices to join the business this autumn.

Two level 2 joiners, a level 3 plumber, one level 3 business and admin apprentice and an environmental services apprentice are now being advertised.

A health and safety apprentice and a data apprentice will be advertised soon.

The housing association pledged last year to double its apprentices from 11 to 22 by 2027. When this new intake joins it will have 21 as it continues its partnership with Oldham College to reach the target.

“To be able to offer top-quality apprenticeships across FCHO is a huge boost to the local economy and our young people,” said Director of People Richard Sandiford.

“It is also a big win for our business as we get to train and often retain skilled young people who can build well-paid careers with us.”

He added: “There is quite rightly much concern that many young people are not in education, work or training and FCHO shares that concern.

“This is why we have made the pledge to double our apprentices because we are committed to doing our bit to help with this national issue.”
