A cyclist had his head slashed with a machete and his electric bike stolen in a "terrifying ordeal" on a canal footpath.
Police were called to Ridgefield Street in Failsworth, on the canal footpath near to the main Tesco, at around 6pm on Thursday 20 October to a report of a knifepoint robbery.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, sustained a "significant injury" to his head caused by a sharp style machete and had a unique electric bike stolen.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and want to speak to two distinctive men (pictured) in connection with the incident.

Detective Sergeant Matt Adshead, of Oldham CID, said: “The victim thankfully did not suffer life changing injuries from this terrifying ordeal where he was held at knifepoint for his property before having a blow to the head.
“After our initial investigation we are now asking for the help of the local community again to see if witnessed anything at the time of the incident or recognise the two people we would like to speak to in connection with the incident.”
