More than 700 people rallied round to show their support to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice as they raised an impressive £7,500 at its annual Christmas Fayre.
The magical event saw the Oldham community come together to donate gifts, volunteer their time, and provide services for free.
The money raised will now go towards providing palliative and end-of-life care for patients and their families.
Alice Entwistle, fundraising events lead at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, said: “What an amazing turnout, especially on such a rainy day!
“Everyone showed so much love for our hospice, and we are extremely grateful to our incredible volunteers and all the businesses who supported us.
“Visitors also made a huge difference, whether they shopped at our stalls, took part in our festive games, or enjoyed our delicious food and drink options.
“It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces, especially those whose loved ones were cared for by Dr Kershaw’s.
“Events like these really show how our hospice is at the heart of the community.
“Thank you so much to everyone who came along or supported us, and also to our sponsor, Booth’s Garden Centre.”

Alongside gift stalls, the festive experience included live music and performances from DJ Patrick Holden, the Amy Mackie School of Dance and Drama, and Oldham College.
Children played Christmas games in an indoor games room and met Santa at the Santa’s Grotto.
There was also a Santa’s Stables with a horse and pony, a giant inflatable snow globe, a raffle, and the chance to make reindeer food.
Alice Entwistle added: “Make sure you keep an eye on our website, as we have some fantastic events to look forward to in 2026.”
