Chai ladies present hand embroidered collage to Lyndhurst Primary School

The Women's Chai ladies present Jason Chadwick, headteacher at Lyndhurst Primary School, with the collage with Najma Khalid (back fourth left).

The Lyndhurst Women’s CHAI group has created a stunning embroidered collage that beautifully represents the school's values.

The group learned how to embroider from watching a YouTube video and made the eye-catching artwork which will be hung up in the new foyer of the Heron Street school.

Najma Khalid MBE (founder of CHAI) asked Jason Chadwick, Headteacher at Lyndhurst Primary School in September how the CHAI group could contribute to the plans of a new foyer area in school and from that this was created.

The CHAI group then invited Mr Chadwick to one of their meetings to present him with the completed collage.

He said “I was blown away with the hard work and dedication that the ladies have put into this project.

“They have learned how to sew from watching videos online, and the quality of this is excellent. We will proudly display this in our reception area”.

On Friday, January 23, the group presented the collage to the children during the weekly assembly and explained what they had done for each part of the collage.
