A beautiful Grade-II listed building in Oldham is offering one lucky couple the chance to win a free wedding ceremony.
Chadderton Town Hall, a recently renovated baroque-style town hall, will host a free draw for those attending their wedding fair on Sunday, January 25.
The free-to-attend fair will feature 20 exhibitors from the wedding industry, showcasing everything from floristry to photography, and wedding cars to wedding cakes.
Springhill Hospice will also present a vast array of wedding attire including bridal wear, suits and bridesmaids’ dresses donated to help raise funds for the hospice.
Many of the gowns, available to try on the day, were donated ‘brand new or unworn’ and for sale at a ‘fraction of their original price’.
The eye-catching red-brick town hall, which wouldn’t look amiss in a series of Bridgerton, has been licensed for wedding ceremonies since July 2005. Since then, registrars have helped almost 8,000 couples tie the knot at the venue.
With town hall weddings now ‘in vogue’, with celebrities like Charli XCX and fashion designer Harris Reed opting to wed at their local council buildings over flashy hotels, Chadderton registrars hope to raise the profile of the ‘magnificent’ Chadderton Town Hall.

“When people walk past outside, they see it’s a beautiful building. But people are always surprised at how impressive it is on the inside,” a spokesperson for the venue said.
The more than 100-year-old building features an ‘iconic’ staircase for wedding photo-shoots, the ‘majestic’ Oak Room for larger ceremonies of up to 100 guests, and the more intimate Green Room for close-knit weddings.
The loved-up winners would save around £475 with a free ceremony, with the option to pay for an additional reception with a licensed bar, DJ, and a range of menu options based on a two-course, buffet-style meal including a hot roast carvery.
Couples will be able to ‘save the date’ by booking their ceremony or find out about the legalities of giving notice. All couples who attend and complete a feedback form on the day will be entered into a free draw to win their wedding ceremony at Chadderton Town Hall free of charge.
