One of Oldham’s most stunning venues flung open its doors on (Sunday) to host its first ever wedding fair.
Over 76 couples attended the event at the Chadderton Town Hall on Middleton Road, where they were able to complete a feedback form to be entered into a free prize draw to win their wedding ceremony free of charge.
Gemma Cunliffe, one of the registrars, hailed the event a huge success, adding: “It was fantastic and exceeded our expectations.
“We received lots of completed feedback forms and we will be contacting the winner this Wednesday.
“The vendors were enthusiastic too. This was the first one organised by the registrars here and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who came along, and we look forward to the next one in the future. “
The fair featured over 20 exhibitors from the wedding industry who were on hand to discuss their products and services.

Exhibitors ranged from florists to photographers, wedding cars to wedding cakes and so much more.
Springhill Hospice were in attendance with a vast array of wedding attire including bridal wear, suits and bridesmaids’ dresses all of which have been lovingly donated to help raise funds for the hospice. They managed to raise £500 for the hospice.

Many of the gowns were donated brand new or unworn and were available to try on the day and to buy at a fraction of their original price.
The impressive Town Hall first opened for licensed wedding ceremonies in July 2005, since then almost 8000 couples have said ‘I do’ there.
On the day, registrars were also on hand to showcase the stunning staircase where couples can have those all-important photographs taken along with the majestic Oak Room where larger ceremonies are held and the more intimate Green Room.
Goody bags were also handed out to the first 100 couples who walked through the door.
