Dr Kershaw’s Hospice is teeing up for its Golf Day at Manchester Golf Club this summer.

The 18-hole golf tournament is open to businesses, organisations and sports enthusiasts and will take place on Thursday, June 11, from 11am to 9pm.

Tickets are now on sale for £500 per four-ball team. This includes bacon sandwiches upon arrival, a two-course meal, golf challenges, and an awards presentation.

Jill Kirkham, community and partnerships fundraising lead at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, said: “As a charity, we are lucky to be supported by fantastic businesses across Oldham and the North West.

“Our annual golf competition is a chance to help raise vital funds whilst enjoying a team activity.

“Each ticket sold will go towards helping our hospice to provide specialist end-of-life care within the community.

“Last year’s event sold out quickly, so book now to avoid disappointment!”

Named ‘Lancashire’s best inland course’, Manchester Golf Club is set over 240 acres of beautiful moorland and heathland.

The Middleton-based private members’ club was founded in 1882 and designed by the famed British golf course architect Harry Colt.

It has hosted European Tour Qualification tournaments and major amateur events including the Reid Trophy and Women’s Open Amateur Championship.

The 2025 Golf Day raised almost £15,000, with Ribble Packaging crowned the winners.

Steve Mellson from Ribble Packaging said: “The course was in beautiful condition, and we couldn’t have asked for more.

“The day was well-organised, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.”

Dr Kershaw’s hopes to beat its record at this year’s event, which has been sponsored by Wiggett Homes and supported by Oldham Audi.

Hole sponsorship is available for £100 and can be secured when booking tickets online or by contacting the fundraising team on 0161 624 9984 or fundraising@drkh.org.uk.
