Police have released CCTV footage following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Chadderton.
Shortly before 3.50pm on Monday 28 September, a man carrying a small axe entered the Five Star shop on Hollinwood Avenue and threatened a staff member. They left the store with a quantity of cash.
Police have now released CCTV footage of the incident and are appealing for anyone who recognises the man pictured, or has any information, to get in touch.
Detective Constable Sarah Hay, of GMP’s Oldham District, said: “Thankfully no-one was injured in this robbery, but this was clearly a terrifying ordeal for the shop worker to endure.
“We have released clear footage of the incident unfolding and we’re confident someone will recognise this individual.
“We believe that the offender was accompanied by a second male, who waited in a shop next door to the convenience store while the offence unfolded.
“If you have any information or recognise the man in this footage, please get in touch immediately.”
Information can be left with police on 0161 856 2247 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
